Radiant Homa Bay

Homa Bay Lake Victoria Sunset

Radiant Homa Bay is a three year initiative to advance the spiritual and economic transformation of Homa Bay County in Kenya.

The initiative started in February 2024, when Richard Larcombe met with Governor Wanga and a group of Bishops and Church Leaders for a time of prayer for Homa Bay County.

Radiant Homa Bay seeks to combine a series of Christian mass-evangelism Gospel crusades with events that promote excellence in marketplace leadership, job creation and entrepreneurialism.

Year 1 of the initiative will commence with a week of events August 19th – 24th 2024.

The Radiant team and partners passionately believe:

  • God knows and loves each of the 1.1M people who live in Homa Bay County.
  • Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to God the Father except through Him.
  • The Christian message has life-transforming power, and the mandate to every church and believer is to proclaim this message to their generation.
  • It is God's desire for every person in Homa Bay County to have a living relationship with Him through Jesus Christ.
  • History shows that social and economic transformation are blessings that flow out of revival and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit in a locality.
  • Everyone deserves to be free from poverty and poverty's systemic causes.
  • Everyone deserves job opportunities and access to gainful employment.

Richard Larcombe

Richard Larcombe is a UK based Christian evangelist, and the founder of Radiant. He is also a co-founder and Technical Director of Learn Amp, a London based technology start-up.

In 2000, he graduated from the University of Southampton UK with a Masters of Engineering degree in Aerospace. He chose to pursue a career in software engineering. Initially working for Nokia, he moved to San Francisco Bay Area in 2002 where he worked for a number of years with internet technology start-ups and non-profits.

In 2004, he began a two year mentoring program with the Graham Evangelistic Association called the North American Institute for Emerging Evangelists. This helped to confirm his calling to large-scale preaching evangelism. He was privileged to be part of the team at Billy Graham’s final crusade in New York City (2005).

In 2005, he became Associate Pastor of New Song Church in Medford, Oregon, while continuing part-time technology work.

In 2010, Richard moved to Redding California to attend the Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry. He joined the staff of Bethel Church in 2011, working as a web developer on the Global Legacy team with Paul Manwaring. He co-developed the LDP Evangelism online program with Paul Manwaring and Chris Overstreet.

In 2012, Richard attended a special week of impartation with Reinhard Bonnke at the Christ For All Nations headquarters in Orlando Florida. This was a moment of great significance for Richard and all the other evangelists in attendance. Hearing about the extraordinary things God has been doing and increasing for many decades in the continent of Africa had a profound impact. There was a sense that a baton had been passed to the next generation.

In 2014, Richard moved back to the UK from California. He hoped to start a UK based evangelism charity at that time however God led him very clearly to return to the technology business. Since then he has worked with London based technology start-ups in various roles: Software Developer, Technical Director and Chief Technology Officer. Richard helped to found Learn Amp in 2017, working as CTO. He remains the Technical Director at Learn Amp.

In late 2023 and early 2024, Richard had the idea for Radiant: A ministry that combines mass-evangelism with initiatives to stimulate economic growth and job creation in Africa.

He now regularly brings multi-disciplinary teams from the US and the UK, to serve the body of Christ and the business community in Kenya and other African nations.
